Review For Burn The Fat By Tom Venuto

This book is a great read for anyone regardless of physical condition. Tom doesn't beat around the bush, he tells it like it is. There is no "secret" to losing weight, no magic pills, etc. Basically, it all comes down to calories in vs. calories out. It is hard work but it is quite possible for anyone. But check your excuses at the door my friend because Tom Venuto debunks all of them.

I am an avid weightlifter and have always maintained a large amount of muscle mass on my small frame. But with it I also have some bodyfat that I wanted gone but pretty much just lived with because I tried and failed so many times I didn't know what to do next. I mostly eat healthy foods, and on several occasions have tried keeping track of my eating. I got so consumed with keeping track of every detail -- weighing the food, counting protein, fat, carbs, getting the percentages right, etc. that I always get burned out and quit.

After reading Tom's book I realized that it's the calories that really matter, if you are eating too much the percentages don't mean anything!

Since Tom's book slapped me in the face I kept track of calories only and I have lost 10 lbs. in the last 3 weeks. I found that before I was eating a lot more than I thought so by doing this I kept myself in check. I kept the same weight-lifting routine so the difference is attributed to diet only. I've never been able to do that before. And it was easier than I thought!

What really impressed me is that the book goes into details about why people overeat, the emotional, physical, reasons. It is amazing how your body causes your brain to make excuses for your actions. I know these feelings well as my head is sabotaging my mind to eat, eat, eat! But if you know what to expect as far as these emotions going on in your head, there are ways to counteract it.

I could go on forever but you just need to buy this book. I recommend it to anyone, big or small, young or old. Also, Tom's previous e-book "Burn the Fat Feed the Muscle" is also a great read for the more serious weight training and bodybuilding folks.
